Wendy joined the Bread Lab staff in 2011 as a part-time commuter from Maine, responsible for organizing the annual three-day conference, The Grain Gathering.

In 2014 she moved to Washington to work full time for the Bread Lab, collaborating with Dr. Jones, the PhD students, and other staff members on educational programs and on developing a partnership network to advise, communicate, and sustain Bread Lab research.

Prior to joining the Bread Lab, Wendy owned restaurants in Idaho and Maine, co-founded Native Studies with members of the Penobscot Nation, and consulted on the design and startup of small independent food enterprises.  She received a B.A. from Norwich University in Vermont and has served on the Lincoln Theater Board, the Miles Hospital Board, and the Cove’s Edge Long Term Care Facility, and currently participates as an advisor to the Cascadia Grains Conference.
